Read and discuss
Proverbs 5:3-6,15-20
6:16-19,23-29
7:6-27
Discuss the central teaching of Proverbs 5-7
The central teaching for these chapters was one to warn against adultery.
2. A parent imparting their wisdom to their kids
3. Chapter 6 had some other general warnings of how not to be as well
What are some of the tactics of the adulteress?
She is alluring, she lies, she seeks eagerly, she dresses to catch the eye, she knows how to persuade young naive boys, she is manipulative, beautiful,
How is a man vulnerable to these tactics?
He is vulberable because he is young and naive and does not have the wisdom to understand to stay away and what will happen if he doesn't.
How does Proverbs 6:16-19 relate to the teaching of the adulteress The things that?
God hates, are the characteristics of an adulteress
Discuss how the commandments of the father and teachings of the mother help a naive young manThis is how our ?children learn right from wrong, they need the strong commands of their father to lead and guide them. They need a father figure to impart their wisdom to them. They need a mother that is strong in the Lord that teach right from wrong as well.
How should we respond to God's instruction in these chapters?
We should listen to Gods instruction and follow it. If we don't we are going to suffer a world of consequences
Verses for thought:
Exo 20:14 "You shall not commit adultery.
Exo 20:17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's."
Wisdom and Understanding can stop us from making these mistakes. It should be our goal to obtain wisdom and understanding to prevent making mistakes, and reaping the consequences thereafter.
